How Soon Can I Expect Delivery

At this busy time of year please allow 3 -5 working days for delivery.

If an order is placed for items which are reprinting or awaiting stock then this may take longer. If this happens we will contact you, as depending on the time frame it may be better to hold delivery of the order until all items are available.

If you know you will not be at home to accept delivery of an order, please leave a comment on your order and we may be able to hold it until your return.

Our shops are open as normal- if you know you will not be able to accept delivery of an online order- you can call to one of our shops instead and purchase your books there.

All online orders are shipped from our warehouse, if you order online and request shop collection, the order will be prepared in our warehouse and could still take 5-10 working days to process, we will contact you once the order is ready for collection in store.

Once your order is shipped you will receive an email from High Street Books notifying you of your updated order status.

You will also receive an email from our courier service GLS with an estimated delivery date (usually 1-2 days after order has been shipped). On this email you can change the day you would prefer to receive the order.

Can I Order Online And Collect Instore?

At this time we do not offer this service. If you would prefer to collect from a HSB store you can call to either one of our stores, Wilton or South Douglas Road. You can email in your list beforehand and a member of staff from the store will contact you when ready for collection.

Where Will You Deliver To?

This is a nationwide service we can deliver to all 32 Counties. We can deliver to your Home or Work Address. If you enter a home delivery address, please ensure that there is someone there to take in the delivery as a signature is required.


We send the orders with GLS registered delivery service. If you add any delivery notes to your order (eg. Leave in porch if nobody is home), we will make a note of it on the box but we cannot guarantee instructions will be followed as packages need to be signed for.

Please Note: At this time the couriers will not ask you to sign the scanners, they will instead sign on behalf of the customer as the delivery is taking place.

How Much Do You Charge For Delivery?

We are currently offering Free Delivery on orders over €50 (Select Free Delivery at Checkout) Otherwise we charge a flat fee of €4.99 for all of Ireland on orders under €50


What if I change my mind and don’t want the product after buying it?

When you purchase online you have the right to return the product within a specific time frame. This is known as the “cooling off” period. You are given 15 days after receipt of the good to make a final decision whether or not to keep the product. If you choose to return the good you are liable for the cost and postage will not be refunded.

Goods need to be in original packaging and in a saleable condition (with any seals and shrink-wrap intact). If the book is returned in perfect condition (undamaged and unmarked), we will exchange it or offer you a refund based on your original method of payment.

If we have sent you the wrong item in error we will cover the postage costs.
